Name: Rob Fagg (aka Rocket)
Age: 34 Years Old
Home Town: Ashford in Kent
Rob Fagg has been a life long motorsport fan which started at a young age, when he used to create race circuits with matches around his dining room floor to race his toy cars. He is a fan of all types of motorsport but in his younger years was massively into WRC and a highlight of his younger years was managing to get a signed autograph off his idol Colin McRae. As the years went on Robs focus switched to F1 and BTCC.
Although Rob was a massive fan of motorsport, the closest he could manage to the real thing was racing radio controlled cars when he was a teenager. Then after several years of just spectating F1 & BTCC Races, Rob Fagg discovered a much cheaper entry into racing – which was Sim Racing through iRacing. He has now been Sim Racing for over 5 years and has won several races within the BSR Touring Car Championship – racing with the likes of the new BTCC Champion – Ashley Sutton, along with other up and coming drivers. This allowed Rob to practice his racing skills and he still uses the software today to prepare for race events.
In 2016 Rob Fagg finally made the step from Sim Racing into Real Racing, buying a Citroen Saxo VTR and entering the 750MC Stock Hatch Championship. In his rookie year Rob Fagg finished an impressive 4th place overall, with a total of 5 podium finishes and won 4 driver of the day trophies. Rob also managed to secure the Highest Placed Novice Award and also came runner up in the 750MC John Miles Novice Driver Award!
After such a fantastic first season of racing, Rob Fagg made some changes to his car and entered the 750MC Hot Hatch Championship in Class C. Unfortunately he was not able to make all of the race meetings due to funding, but he had some excellent results, coming 3rd at Snetterton, 2nd and 3rd place finishes at Brands Hatch, before ending the season at Donington with 2 dominant victories, in race 1 in the rain he finished 11 seconds ahead of the field and in race 2 in the dry, after an opening battle where he dropped to 2nd, he re-took the lead and then drove away to win by 6 seconds. With such a fantastic finish to the season and lots of upgrades being made to his car over the winter months, we are expecting Rocket Rob to be at the front of the field and a title contender for the 2018 season…
